A tour of the video editor
Find your way around the Videospan video editor: the tool rail, canvas, timeline and inspector, autosave, and publishing your edit as a new version.
The editor is where a raw recording becomes a finished, on-brand video. Here's where everything is.
Steps
- Open any video from Content and select Edit.
- Use the tools down the left side to add video, images, audio, text, emojis, shapes, captions, speaker lower thirds and bumpers. Select a tool to open its panel.
- Select anything on the timeline below the canvas to work with it.
- Change the selected item in the inspector on the right. For a video, that includes Make cuts, Crop & position, and AI fixes like Remove background noise and Stabilize.
- Select Play, or press the space bar, to preview your edit.
- When you're happy, select Publish.
Good to know
- Your work saves itself. Every change is saved automatically as a draft, so you can leave and pick up where you left off.
- Publishing makes a new version. Videospan renders your edit as a new version of the video. The original upload is always kept in Versions.
- Text fills itself in. The Text panel offers ready-made titles using the video's title and the speaker's name and role.

The editor is where a raw recording becomes a finished, on-brand video. Let's take a quick tour. From any video, select Edit. Down the left side are the tools: video, images and audio, text, emojis and shapes, then captions, speaker lower thirds, bumpers, and more. Select any tool to open its panel. Here, Text shows ready-made titles filled in from the video, like its title and the speaker's name. Below the canvas is the timeline. Everything in your video sits on a track, and you can select any item to work with it. The inspector on the right shows the settings for whatever you selected. For a video, that includes Make cuts, Crop and position, and AI fixes like Remove background noise and Stabilize. Select Play, or press the space bar, to preview your edit at any time. Every change is saved automatically as a draft, so you can leave and pick up where you left off. When you're happy, select Publish. Videospan renders your edit as a new version of the video, and your share links update to it.
